Scheduling is completed by phone. We hope to offer online bookings in the future. If you need to change or modify your appointment, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.

Parking

There are two street parking sports located in front of our clinic for clients with a SPARC pass, as seen above. While we don’t offer visitor parking, there is street (metre) parking available nearby. Alternatively, there is also a paid parking lot across from the Westin Bayshore Hotel.

What to wear during your appointment?

Please wear clothes you are comfortable to move in. If there is a specific area you would like the therapist to observe, we recommend shorts, tank tops, and/or sports bras, so the area may be easily assessed. This attire is also helpful when assessing posture or gait. We recommend comfortable walking shoes.

If you are interested in trying a particular type of equipment, we recommend the following:

  • Lokomat Pro or Eksoskeleton - please wear long jogging-like pants and comfortable closed-toe walking shoes. We do not recommend jeans or clothing that have buttons, rivets, or irritations to the skin.

  • Armeo Power - please wear a long-sleeved shirt.

  • iFES - please wear a tank top if using the arm cycle, so we may apply electrodes with ease. Please wear shorts and long socks if using the leg cycle.

What to bring to your appointment?

Equipment: If you use any adaptive equipment, such as a walker, cane, or orthotics, please bring them with you to your appointment. If you are unable to bring your equipment, please bring a photo or video of you using it.

Medical information: If you have any relevant medical or imaging reports, therapy prescriptions, medication lists, or discharge summaries that hasn’t been previously shared with us, please bring them with you. Please note all information obtained is kept strictly confidential.

What to do before your appointment?

  • Please confirm the date and time of your appointment

  • Please complete all questionnaires online and given to you. If you have any difficulties, please contact the clinic or come earlier so you can fill it out at the clinic. Please note it is preferable to have questionnaires filled out prior to your appointment, so therapists can best prepare for your visit.

  • Please confirm clinic location, directions, and allow time to find parking.

  • Ensure you are wearing the appropriate clothing and footwear.

  • Please read over and ensure you are following our COVID-19 Safety Plan.

What to expect at your first appointment?

The staff at TC Lifestyle Rehab Centre are here to assist you! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our front desk. The front desk will collect any paperwork you bring, assist with any additional paperwork that needs to be completed, and help provide additional assistance you may need.

You will then be greeted by our therapist, who will bring you into the treatment space. Typically, each session begins with a client interview. During this time, the therapist will go over questionnaires you filled out and ask questions regarding the reason for your visit. The therapist will then conduct a physical examination. This may consist of observing how you walk, testing your range of motion, strength, gait, balance and coordination tests, and/or/other special tests specific to your concerns. From there, the therapist will provide treatment and develop a comprehensive rehabilitation plan with you to meet your goals.

At the end of the appointment, you will be taken back to the waiting room area.

Each appointment is roughly 60 minutes. However, we are happy to accommodate requests for longer/shorter appointments, if applicable. Please let us know if you have any time constraints.

Clinic environment

We are a clean and scent-free environment. Please refrain from wearing perfume or fragrances that may be harmful to those with environmental sensitivities. Please arrive with clean attire and indoor shoes, when possible.

Our treatment space is open-concept. We also have two private treatment rooms, which are available upon request. Please let us know if this is important to you and we will do out best to accommodate.

We have built-in speakers and are happy to play any music requests during your session. However, if the music selection is disruptive to client care, we observe the right to turn off or modify as necessary.

We have an accessible washroom for clients with an automatic door, automatic flush, automatic sink and soap. There is also a help cord in case of emergencies. Please note at this time, we do not have a raised toilet seat and the grab bar is only on the right side of the toilet.
